Songwriting Seminar - ‘Papercuts’ Breakdown
Exclusively on Patreon • Sun Aug 23 12p central
Hey all!! I'm doing a songwriting seminar, live on zoom. This is for folks who themselves like to write songs or who think they might want to someday try writing a song.
I'm going to break down my original song Papercuts. (For reference, watch the version I recorded last week). I'll discuss song structure, chord choices, rhythmic pattern both for lyric and instrumentation, melody and lyrical choices and I'll share some clues as to how to cleave your lyric down to its most essential expression. You’ll be able to ask questions in realtime and will hopefully leave the session with a ton of new ideas on how to get deeper into your own songwriting.
I've been reflecting on my approach to songs and I realize that I'm pretty damn deliberate with my choices. Everything is on purpose. I think this seminar will be an opportunity for me to elaborate on why I make the choices I do.
The Papercuts Songwriting Seminar is exclusively on Patreon, free to my patreon subscribers. Click here and sign up for a monthly pledge of $3. The zoom link for the seminar is right there in the post. See you soon!
